Living all my life in NYC, I finally got to enjoy my first restaurant week with my ace Flower. We went to the chic Fig & Olive restaurant located in the Meatpacking District in NYC. Fig & Olive specialize in Mediterranean cuisine. Our starter's were these fabulous drinks called the "Rossilini" which had blood orange and exotic liquor in it. Next our lovely waitress with Haley brought us bread with 3 different kinds of olive oils that had a different tastes. All three were very good! Next our appetizers were Mushroom croquettes and a fig and olive salad with Gorgonzola and blue cheese. Now, I'm never here for mushrooms but them croquettes.....GIRL THEY WERE LIFE CHANGING!!!!! And don't even get me started on the salad! Now for the main course, my girl Flower had chicken Tajine with cous cous and I had the Rivera salmon with cauliflower puree. And for dessert, I had the Chocolate pot de Creme and Flower had the dessert crostini topped with fresh strawberries and mint leaves. Overall our meal was the BOMB and the service was OUTSTANDING! I would totally come back to this place for a special occasion or just to treat myself. Not gonna lie it was on the pricey side but it was definitely worth it!
We all have an inner "chubby kid" that loves the decadent foods or drinks that we can't consume everyday. Chubby Kid Adventures are a group of food connoisseurs, or "foodies" sharing our love for food. We'll share our food outings, foodie finds and an occasional recipe. If you dine at a restaurant, come across a local hidden gem or have a recipe that other foodies will like, send info and/or pics to www.chubbykidadventures@yahoo.com for a chance for your find to be featured.
